i am antariksh anand, currently studying mechatronics engineering at the victoria university of wellington. this website was made by me for my creative endeavors. my creative name anemoiac.

about anemoiac

the term anemoiac is built from the base word: anemoia. anemoia is the act of yearning or being nostalgic for an era in which you never existed. i feel this immensely, having been born in the 2000s, yet raised on media from the 90s, 80s, and earlier. i look to the past and see progress in a reverse direction, longing for a return to simplicity while maintaining the complexity undermining our current lives. a fundamentally impossible schema, yet a dreamable one.

     the logo

my logo for anemoiac is an svg tracing of the [wellington cenotaph]. a statue in [wellington central, nz], that is dedicated to those who passed in world war one and two. the soldiers from our country who perished due to the breakdown of morality and decorum on a scale yet to be replicated. i have utilised this to represent the act of anemoia, where a man on a mount decorated with armour and shieldry, reaches up into the heavens yearning for an impossible present, a time beyond his comprehension yet seemingly attainable. a time so close yet plagued with the inability to return. this is the use i have created for this spectacular monument.
